KEEPING THE family entertained is so easy when you stay at Yew Tree Cottage. Here is a sample plan for exploring the best of the area:
Pop to the markets in Malton, Castle Howard and then kick-back and enjoy the cottage interiors and log fire.
Fossil hunting on the Jurassic beaches at Robin Hood's Bay. Scenic drive through the Esk Valley. Fish & Chips at Whitby harbour, and an afternoon at the Dracula Experience and Captain Cook's House.
Picnic on the moors, then Helmsley Castle and explore the town. On the way back, stop off at the ruined Kirkham Priory. Dinner in the Blacksmith's Arms, and a nightcap infront of the fire.
A day in the garden enjoying the sun, and the walks around Westow. Home cooked food al fresco, and some wine to finish the day.
A visit to the Hogsmead Station, the Hogwarts railway station in the Harry Potter movie, and the fictitious town of Ashfordly which featured in the show 'Heartbeat' - both at Goathland. Lunch followed by a walk on the ancient Roman Road running across the moors.
A visit to York for the medievel streets, the Jorvik Viking Centre, the Minister, lunch out and of course plenty of shopping.
Sadly, time to go home... but with wonderful memories of your fun week with us!
